- I have cold feet at night as I have gotten older, so I’ve been wearing cheap fuzzy socks to bed. I also tried expensive wool socks. Both helped, but not completely. I tried a sock combo—ankle sock first, with a cheap hospital-type knee sock on top of that. Absolutely snug and cozy all night, and I did not have to buy anything. —Beth Nieman
- As a weather wimp who graduated from college in Michigan early to avoid a fourth winter, I love my thick felted all-wool Glerups! They come as slip-ons, house shoes, and slipper boots, with leather or rubber soles, in a beautiful array of colors. Mine are slipper boots in cranberry, keeping my feet and ankles warm on single-digit and sub-zero mornings. Although they say to wear on bare feet, I do wear socks (if it’s 40 degrees I’m freezing). I learned about Glerups from my cousin who was born and raised in Wisconsin, braved a number of years of brutal Minnesota cold, and lived in New Hampshire - none of which are known for warm winters. —Wendy Lathrop
- Glerups are the best slippers in the world. Falke makes slipper socks with grippy bottoms that are machine washable. Have a great day! —Heather von Bargen
- Glerups are a worthwhile, cold weather splurge for a WFH person in a no-socks house. Felt on top, grippy bottoms keep you safe on the stairs. Partial to the boot style. —Kelly Turner
- GLERUPS! Oh so cozy … highly recommend these woolly treats for bare feet. —Chris MacDonald
- I highly recommend slip-on leather sole Glerups. I’m on my third pair. I might just go and buy another… —Stacy
- I used to travel for work and was blessed to stay in many 5 star hotels where the amenities included a little pouch with slippers. I kept them all. Right now I am rotating through a pair of slippers from The Jefferson Hotel in Washington, DC. They are white and fluffy, and have a quill feather embroidered across the top as though Jefferson himself were about to write his name across my toes. —Whitney McKnight
- I absolutely LOVE my Bombas Gripper Slipper, Sherpa Lined Booties. They go up to my ankles, have a cushioned footbed in addition to the “sherpa” lining, and grips on the bottom so they’re no slip on our hardwood stairs or floor. —Terry Odell
- Best feet warming slippers: Birkenstock Zermatt wool slippers are so comfortable and have good support too. I discovered them during lockdown when all I wore were slippers. I’m still wearing the same pair nearly 6 years later, so they hold up well, too. —Rachel Hall
- As for the slippers, I never used to wear my UGG boots much when I lived in Australia/New Zealand. Then I moved back to the UK—oof—I've been living in them. —Alex Hallatt
- Probably pricey—mine were a Christmas gift—but Uggs are the coziest slippers I’ve ever owned. —Leslie Pietrzyk
- Nothing beats Uggs since they're made of real sheepskin. The comfiest, warmest, softest, and cutest slippers ever. Mine are pink :) —Vera Bell
- UGG boots. I wear them inside the house. I got my first pair in 1993, before Britney made them cool, and wore them til the rubber cracked and the insoles chewed my toes. Currently on my second pair, two years in. —Alex Von Tol
- If you're willing to look eccentric in exchange for an incredibly comfy experience, nothing beats DIY cashmere socks. I mistakenly threw a favorite 2ply cashmere sweater into the dryer after washing and rather than throw away the precious remains, I cut off the arms, sewed the ends, and use them for socks. They are a revelation—don’t fit too well but fine for around the house and bedtime and feel extraordinary. 🙂 —Wendy Sunshine
- Favorite slippers, with no contest—Haflinger Grizzly—they have a sole that lets you run outside if you need to, arch support, and they’re a boiled wool that holds up and lasts a very long time. —Shannon Huffman Polson
- I am never cold again with these Mongolian felt slippers from Esgii. Their website is in Dutch/German but it says in ‘contact options’ that you can email them for delivery outside The Netherlands/Belgium and they will help with a solution. —Sara Stegen
- Best slipper and bedtime socks: Cloud socks from Le Bon Shoppe, sweet dreams… —Fabiola B. Schlessinger
- Bombas’s Sunday Slippers. I refuse to believe there’s anything better. —Marin Gazzaniga
