- My favorite travel pants are the Ultrasoft Sweats from LL Bean. I discovered them during the pandemic and I'm not going back! 100% heavy cotton, front and back pockets, soft soft and comfortable. —Tiffscribes
- Big fan of Marine Layer Allison pants, here. For travel, for WFH, everything. I live in Texas and they are three season pants for me. —Kelly Turner
- I recently discovered Athleta Seasoft. These were great pants for a plane flight and not too heavy. —Beth Casteel
- My favorite travel pants/clothes: good hYOUman. Made in the US. Super comfy and casual. Size up for best comfort. —Maureen C. Berry
- I love my Wool& (Wooland) dresses. They are perfect for travel because they are versatile, lightweight, and oh so comfortable. The wool can be worn for days without being washed and not smell. (They even have a 100 days challenge to wear the same dress for 100 days and get a $100 credit!) I feel comfortable and fancy all at the same time. My favorite is the summer midi, but there is a passionate online community for all their different styles. —Diane Newcomer
- Favorite travel skirt: Appleseed’s FlexKnit with zipper pockets. Pair with leggings and you’re set. —Ruth Kirk
- I have indulged in Aviator jeans—they are extremely comfortable and have security pockets. They aren’t the greatest for washing in a sink, but they also don’t need a lot of washing. I have two blue pairs and one black (my dressier option). The fabrics are slightly different between the colors. I wear the relaxed style. Their sizing is unusual, and they’ll work with you to figure out which size you are. —Deborah Robson
- Athleta has a line of pull-on light-weight “joggers” that fit nicely at waist and hip, are looser through the leg, taper to the ankle, and have a lovely drape. The angled, off-vertical zippers at about the hip are a nice, slimming detail. They are easy to wear and give a finished look no matter how many days they are worn before washing. I’ve worn them on a trek through the Scottish Highlands, on bicycles, trains, and to the theatre, in hiking boots, sandals and heels. Lots of colors. Black goes with everything. Sizing is strange. Must try on. I’m a 4-6 but a zero in Athleta. They also come in regular or petite, high rise or at waist. “Trekkie North High Rise Jogger,” “Attitude Mid-Rise Jogger.” —Martha Mitchell
- I had to answer your traveling pants question, because I'm in my third week of book tour with only two pairs of pants: Athleta's Trekkie North High Rise Jogger in black and grey. A shop employee pointed out that I could order them in tall if I didn't like the ankle length. They're super easy to wash and dry in a hotel room sink, they don't look like joggers, and they have loads of pockets. They're also lightweight which is great for summer, but in winter I'd just wear tights under them. —Amy Stewart
- For travel clothes, I wear compression leggings daily to help manage my POTS symptoms. They are comfy and supportive, great for travel as well. Compression socks are a great alternative or addition as well. Basically, good days—and trips—start and end with compression 😁 —Jolyn Young
- I wanted to share with you my favorite travel dress that I wear to and from Aruba (we go just about every year). I love clothes with SPF protection, so I wear the tunic dresses from Coolibar, with leggings underneath, and a zip-up sweater/jacket when leaving Pennsylvania (I'm always cold on a plane). Once we arrive, it's quick & easy to remove the jacket & leggings into my backpack, and I'm already partially protected from the Aruba sun while we travel to the resort. I also grab my hat & sunglasses from my pack, along with travel size SPF lotion for my face while we wait to check into our room. I do the reverse when leaving, and pull on the leggings & jacket once we're inside Queen Beatrix airport waiting for departure. Here’s a link & two screenshots. (I have 4 different colors!) —Angela Eckhart
- For travel pants, I like the prAna Kanab, both regular and rip stop. Both have great pockets and are comfortable. The rip stop version is more comfortable and has deeper pockets but it's more bulky around the knees. —Heidi Carpenter
- My travel dress or travel pants is a “Black Wide Skirt Pants without Tie Belt”. I travel and teach meditation and healing for free (with donation of host/hostess for food and sometimes for transport) for the past sixteen years, and these pants have been with me since eleven years and only now there’s sign of some small little holes yet it is still wonderful to wear. I can put my legs into lotus fold with the wide skirt pants, and it kept me warm, without belt it doesn’t tied my belly tight when I seated in the meditation 🧘♀️ posture for long. —Corale Sunone
- My top travel pants would have to be Fjällräven ones. They have a lot of variety and are super high quality, with extremely durable materials. Which comes in handy when you do a lot of hiking in National Parks! Plus—lots of pockets!!! Including thigh pockets for putting your phone in, which are the best. —Isabela Myre
- Travel pants? Always Duluth Trading Company Noga pants or capris. Wash well. Comfy with a zippered pocket on the thigh for my phone. And they last forever. —Rita Schunk
- My favorite travel pants…Lands’ End high rise, wide-leg jeans that gently flare all the way down the leg. The fit is “engineered at multiple points and sizes are proportioned specifically for regular, petite, plus and tall.” I believe that! They are super comfortable all over—even when I am sitting for long periods of time. Feels like I am not wearing jeans. The other nice thing about these jeans is, they are made with recycled cotton fiber and liquid indigo dyeing techniques are used, amounting in considerable water savings. —Christine DeLorenzo
- Favorite travel pants: Athleta Brooklyn pant. Super comfortable for the airplane. They also come in handy on trips because they roll into a small space and can be casual or dressy. —Amy Fellner Dominy
- I always travel in Spanx yoga pants and an UnderArmour shirt with a (North Face) fleece jacket. I wear black compression knee-high stockings underneath the compression pants. My husband is a physician and wants me to avoid the deep vein thrombosis that long flights can give you. In addition to my work-out outfit being supremely comfortable, it's practical for when I arrive at the destination. Most hotels have a gym so I am all set to work out with those pieces of clothing which are very easy to wash and dry in the hotel room. I was given this advice over 40 years ago by a Chilean woman who traveled internationally nonstop. She told me, "You must be comfortable! Blue jeans are the worst pants to travel in. Always travel in your work-out outfit to be comfortable and be ready to fall asleep as soon as possible." I have followed this woman's advice as I have circled the globe five times. I bless her memory. —Nancy Prendergast
- My favorite travel dresses for warm/hot weather and a casual, tropical vibe are the sunkissed line from Toad & Co (also can be found as crusher line at Title Nine). I have 2 of these dresses (one knee-length, one ankle length). They pack down to nothing, don’t wrinkle, and are so lightweight they wear like a dream in hot weather. I call them my “naked dresses” because they feel like wearing nothing, in a good way. Some of the patterns are a bit wild. Mine are tropical and make me feel celebratory. Also, both my dresses have pockets including a hidden zipper pocket, which make them great for travel. They have joggers in this fabric at Title 9 that I would like to try for travel. —Rebecca Brams
