- I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, so am always on the lookout for products that help keep my skin calm. My go-to is Avène XeraCalm A.D Cleansing Oil for my face, which is a huge bottle and lasts forever. I also use their XeraCalm A.D Cream as a night cream, again a huge bottle that lasts forever. I’m in Australia and always wear an SPF 50+ during the day. The best one I’ve found is Beauti-fltr Feather Light SPF 50+. It’s a primer, moisturiser and sunscreen and is one of the only sunscreen moisturisers I’ve found that doesn’t make my skin feel greasy. —Melanie
- My favourite skin product for dry feet is not a fancy brand but a cream called Eucerin. An application before bedtime leads to softer feet in the morning, and an occasional foot bath of it with just a few ounces, during which I run foot over foot, produces near-spa-level results. Complement with a good foot file especially for the heels. —Wayne Jones
- Some of the Native American reserves around here use a homemade face scrub
of organic sugarcane granules and ground up, dried sage (locally
picked). Keeps in a jar for years. Just mix a small amount of mixture and water in the hand and scrub. No chemicals. —Crystal Scherer
- Favorite skincare product: Evil Goods Whipped Beef Tallow and Manuka Honey Balm. I love this stuff! —Melissa Gardner
- I love the Om Organics skincare line and have been using it for four years. The bilberry and tucuma eye cream is amazing! I’ve tried most of the line and find all of the products nourish the skin—great for my dry/mature skin. I’ve got my sisters hooked on it now! Om offers rewards, freebies, and auto-order options, and it’s easy to buy using their website. It’s worth trying out one of their mini-kits to see if you like the products. —AK White
- Imbue Lifted 100mg CBD: organic facial cream. —Candace Cavanaugh
- Supergoop’s Superscreen Hydrating Daily Cream has no smell, and makeup doesn’t pill when you apply immediately afterwards—my two biggest reasons for skipping it all these years. I also really like their SPF-40 Bright-Eyed Mineral Eye Cream. It really does what it says! —Heather Ash
- Skin care: Augustinus Bader, recommended by Sofia Coppola —Valerie Harms
- My favorite skincare product is avocado. Not a commercial salve or cream, but the raw fruit itself. After scooping out the flesh to eat, I take what remains of it on the nut, and apply it to my hands, arms and legs. Avocado is both hydrating and astringent. Nothing is better for the skin, in my experience. After some skepticism on her part, my wife now follows suit! It absorbs readily and does not leave an oily residue. —Michael Cooper
- Favorite budget face and hand cream: Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream, less than $5 or 4 oz. Lasts a long time. I use it every night on my face and throughout the day on my hands. My face is soft and moist in the mornings after using it at night. I keep it in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. You can purchase it at WalMart & Amazon for sure. I'm 71 years old and have been using it since the 1990s or before. —Rhonda Wiley-Jones
- Guys don’t usually talk about skin care, but I want to recommend Bulldog men’s products. Their line is environmentally friendly and they do not test on animals. They have an entire line ranging from face washes, scrubs, moisturizers, body wash and shaving. —Tate Basildon
- During the pandemic, I somehow discovered the Il Makiage brand. Now I mostly wear their products (I particularly love the Icon High Volume & Intense Curl mascara). But my favorite product is their Power Rewind Eye Tightener, which actually does exactly what it promises: de-puffs and smooths the skin under my eyes, and camouflages the dark circles. The first time I applied it, I walked away because you have to let it set for five minutes and when I walked back to my mirror I was so shocked by how well it worked that I actually said “WHOA!” out loud! —Kelly Stanley
- Skin care recommendations per your newsletter request: Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve is INCREDIBLE and the only thing that fixes my hands after
they get all rough and gross in winter. I swear by this, and every other hand cream I try doesn’t come close. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask is an over night miracle worker for chapped lips (I like the gummy bear flavor). [Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin cream](https://www.drjart.com/product/28258/111504/moisturizers/ceramidintm-skin-barrier-moisturizing-cream?size=50_mL_%2F_1.69_fl._oz.) is so good for a night time face moisturizer before bed. —Eira Tansey
- My favourite skincare product is Dr. Organic Rose Otto Facial Serum. Smells gorgeous, isn't outrageously priced and leaves your skin feeling soft and dewy. —Emma Baird
- For context I’m a 43 year old man with oily skin. I regularly get hard bumps on my face and arms as well as some traditional acne. My wife introduced me to Touch KP Exfoliating Lotion. It’s a weak glycolic acid lotion. It doesn’t really rub all the way in for me so a little goes a really long way. The stuff is amazing. My wife has fair non oily skin and we both use it and no more bumps or blemishes. My only beef is that the bottle leaks if you travel with it, so I put it into these pump bottles: VitalUp 3 Pack Empty Refillable. I also have a very coarse beard and did a serious deep dive reading all the scientific literature I could find on clinically proven ingredients that soften beard hair. TLDR Jojoba and Argan oil are the only statistically significant ingredients I found that soften and strengthen. Viking Revolution has a beard oil (I prefer the sandalwood scent) that’s a mix of both oils and while it doesn’t make my beard peach fuzz, it makes a solid difference on day one. The only other part of my face routine is a grapefruit salicylic acid (Walmart brand) wash I use every morning. Nothing else cuts through the heavy oil. —Derrick Boudwin
- Favorite skincare product: the MadHippie line, in particular their vitamin C serum and cream and the antioxidant face oil. —Barbara Boyd
- I really love Trader Joe’s honey hydration day and night cream and wish they had it all the time. —Lori Goshert
